Sharepiece 4/5: Emergent Task Timer for Lawyers

Today's sharepiece is a refresh of the 6-minute increment version of the Emergent Task Timer which helps see where your time is going throughout the day. It was mentioned by Chris Williams over on Mastodon, and I remembered this from an earlier project in 2013.

This version of the Emergent Task Timer (ETT) splits each hour into 10 segments of six minutes in length. The regular version splits each hour into 15-minute bubbles.Emergent Task Timer Pro 6-minute versionEmergent Task Timer Pro 6-minute version (full size image)

Refreshed Version

As the original file from 2013 was created with Adobe Illustrator, I wanted to see if Affinity Designer could convert itI no longer use Adobe products. I became irritated by their direction with AI, rising prices, and addition of bloated features instead of addressing underlying tool performance.. And it did without much trouble. I did have to convert "text frames" to "art text" for convenience, but that was very minor. I also updated the copyright information, though I'm not quite sure what to do for legal naming on the notice since I no longer go by "David" though it's still my legal name. Harrumph!

30 minutes + 1 hour blog post prep

So, I think that went pretty well. I also created a placeholder download box with some behind-the-scenes secret sauce.
