Explore-Learn-Build-Share (ELBS) is my de-facto synthesis loop. It works because exploring and learning are assumed to take time and proceed at their own place. By comparison, As Soon as Possible (ASAP) is the desire to do stuff as quickly as possible because of some emergency situation.
It's important that the emergency for an ASAP project is legitimate and not driven by impatience or bad management practices. Every business wants things done ASAP but it's questionable whether they really need it as a crutch for their own slow abilities or they are putting out a fire of their own making (now or pre-emptively expecting them to fuck something up).
