For 2026, Sri will be posting new blog posts on Tuesday and Fridays! This is the first simple post to just get the conversation rolling.
Happy New Year! I've been busy settling in family for an extended visit, and also I've been recovering from the 30 Day Building Challenge The intent of the challenge was quickly reskill in graphic design tools and daily blogging. It was announced in the October 10 Groundhog Day Resolution Report, and officially concluded on December 12.. I still have to do a formal postmortem on how I think it went. I also need to do a postmortem for Groundhog Day Resolutions 2025 itself! I'll be writing those up later.
Right now, I'm really focused on relaunching the design business, writing personal software tools, and developing a cozy community where people get together and make stuff. THey may appear to be separate endeavors, but they are actually tightly integrated with my notion of myself and the kind of people I want to work with. It's a pretty daunting task; I'm sure I'll be writing about that too.
Blogging is going to be a big part of the business relaunch. Today I'm simply announcing that I intend to post new personal blog posts every Tuesday and Friday to share what I'm working on. I need this structure to stay productive and connected with the world.
That's it for now! A quiet first post to kickstart the conversation I have with my friends, being the cheeseball that I am and sharing the things I find interesting. Uh, I guess I could do that right now!
New section incoming!
Sharepieces for Tuesday, January 6
- This video by Switch Angel demoing a live music coding beats session is like watching a tech witch manning the trance station on the Starship Enterprise!
- I started outlining Sri's Theory of Community to accompany the previous Sri's Theory of Friendship document. Both documents strive to articulate the principles that I think will be important for the communities I want to build.
- The half-size Emergent Task Planner Notebook is still in stock on Amazon USA only. The price is somewhat high, but they are printed and assembled a few miles away from me in New Hampshire by a small commercial printer called Papergraphics. I'll be trying to figure out a way to bring the price down by switching papers and color process, but small batch runs like I make don't have the economies of scale using a big overseas printer. Anyway, there are still around 120 units in stock (from 250 in mid-December), and I can restock at least another 250 should those run out.
- I'm planning on running another GHDR Mastermind Group in DS|CAFE this year. We're going to do a postmortem and figure out how to make it better!
