S.M.A.R.T. Goals

SMART is an acronym for testing an objective. It was written from the perspective of management back in 1981 in the journal Management Review and apparently has been a part of management lore ever since.

S Is for Specific
M Is for Measurable
A Is for Achievable
R Is for Relevant
T Is for Timely

This is an extension of Doran's SMART acryonym, making explicit the evaluation and reassessment phases. The SMARTER material appears to be adapted for use in personal goal setting.
