NOTE: Outside the US, the clinical assessment "Pathological Demand Avoidance" is described by the self-advocating autistic community as Persistent Drive for Autonony aka PDA. In some circles, it is consider a subtype (neurotype) of autism.
In my own terms, this is a resistance to doing a task despite knowing that it is something that I should do. It applies to even tasks I designate for myself. It is a stubborn resistance. There is a distinct difference in the clinical assessment vs lived experience.
