There's the expression dividing the pie that makes the presumption that there is a finite amount of pie to go around, so it's a competition to get as much pie as possible before it's all gone. The attitude becomes one of scarcity.
I like to look for ways to make a bigger pie or make more pies to cultivate an empowered attitude of abundance. Make more pie, so everyone can have a bigger piece!
