By default, the Discord only shows coworking rooms, so to access the
#ghdr-mastermindgroup you must go to the#dscafe-settingsroom to opt-into the Social Clubs.
We encourage people to say hello and introduce yourself, but per the guidelines it's not necessary.
For 2025 I'm hosting an experimental mastermind group on the DS|CAFE Discord Server. The last time we had such a group was back in 2018!
With my emphasis this year on meaningful conversation and shared purpose, I'm getting out of my comfort zone to host this group. So far we have a great group of regulars new and old on the server who have decided to join in!
Structure
GHDR is designed primarily as a reminder to reflect on a set of yearly goals, and doesn't prescribe a particular system. For more details, check out the GHDR Page to see whether it fits. The idea behind this group is to keep ourselves motivated on our goals, comparing and sharing our insights.
Discussion about GHDR is happening on the Social Hub (opt-in required, see sidebar). The forum room is called #ghdr-mastermind and currently has:
- About the GHDR Mastermind Group - a locked informational post with links to resources
- Group Chat - the "general" discussion area to talk about goal setting, etc
- Post your Project Kickoff Goals - where you post your initial GHDR goals...you can always change them later
- Post your Monthly Reports - (will become available before March 3)
The general intent of the DS|CAFE Discord is to provide a place that promotes positive-minded, self-empowered, conscientious, curious, and kind discussion about the day-to-day of our work-life goals. If you like listening to stories and sharing your experiences in a warm virtual coffee shop, you probably will enjoy what we're doing.
