My attention was captured by this story on Core77 about the Eurekazone EZ1 Powerbench, a replacement for a table saw.
I live in a limited-space condominium and don't have space for a table saw, so I loved the idea of this. The engineering is really intriguing too; the system's creator Dino Makropoulos is one of those brilliant inventor types that I admire.
Over the years, track saws have become mainstream and are offered by every major manufacturer. In particular, the Festool track saws are the high-end systems that does a lot of what the EZ1 does with built-in dust extraction. Eurekazone itself seems to have slowed or stopped operations, unfortunately.
