BarCamp is a “user-generated conference”, most popular in the mid-2000s tech scene but now broadly used in different industries.
I was one of the volunteer organizers, and created a set of stickers for the registration desk so attendees could put them on their badges, helping find kindred souls to talk to.

One day I received a chain letter that promised doom if I didn’t send a copy to 7 people. Annoyed, I created this magic certificate to dispel the curse.
You can sign this certificate and give it to someone who receives as chain letter, so everyone feels relieved!
Creative Self Reliance “Cootie Catcher”
I came up with this idea to modify a childhood fortune telling prop one night. It’s based around a concept called Explore • Learn • Build • Share. The text inside the flap is based on those concepts.
A cool thing is that this is easy to print as a single-sided sheet so it’s easy to customize and distribute. The naming is unfortunate; these are what these were called back when I was a little kid.

Task Tracker “Destruct-o-Matic”
This is a variant of the Task Progress Tracker, a one-sheet form that helps you break down projects into individual tasks.
This “Destruct-o-Matic” version replaces the boring progress boxes with bullet holds that end in an explosion at the end when you are mad and need to get some aggression out of your system!

When coming up with an idea, people appreciate a little push to boost their confidence when the outcome feels uncertain or risky.

A Thimble-full of Patience Card
One day when I was feeling my reserve of patience was so small it could fit in a thimble, I had this idea to make it into a 3x5 card for passive-aggressively showing my ire.
After making it, though, my mood brightened and I no longer needed it.
The idea is still cool though!

Operating Principle Cards
This is a set of business card-sized reminders based on my life principles at the time. I wanted to have a set of positive reminders that I could make into a deck.
A nice thing about business cards is that they are extremely cheap to produce in bulk; I was thinking of expanding the selection into large deck. Maybe someday!

As a kid I loved drawing spaceships. I also liked those Top Trumps cards that have pictures of vehicles with their stats, which were a popular recess activity when I was in the 5th grade. So I made one as a design challenge!

Optimal Taco Stacking Poster
I liked hard tacos but hated when they shattered under a bit. I thought that maybe if I used cheese to hold the shell together at the bottom, shattering would be avoided!
After testing that the idea works, I made this poster to share my experience with everyone.
